Copyright Questions
Wesleyan-Holiness Digital Library (“the Website”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. We comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) (17 U.S.C. § 512) and voluntarily extend a global takedown request mechanism to facilitate the removal of allegedly infringing content under applicable international laws, including but not limited to:
- European Union – Directive (EU) 2019/790, Article 17
- United Kingdom – Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988
- India – Copyright Act, 1957 & IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021
Submitting a Copyright Takedown Notice
If you believe that content hosted on the Website infringes your copyright, you may submit a Takedown Notice by providing the following information:
- Identification of the copyrighted work(s) alleged to be infringed.
- Identification of the infringing content, including its URL or specific location.
- A statement affirming that you are the rightful copyright holder or authorized to act on their behalf and any other information that supports your claim.
- A good faith statement that the use is unauthorized.
- A declaration under penalty of perjury that the information provided is accurate.
- Your contact details, including name, email, and phone number.

Counter-Notice Process (If You Believe Your Content Was Removed in Error)
If your content was removed due to a copyright complaint and you believe this was done in error, you may submit a Counter-Notice that includes:
- Identification of the removed content and its prior location.>
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the content was wrongfully removed.
- Your consent to jurisdiction in either your local courts or those of the complainant.
- Your contact information for legal purposes.
If a counter-notice is received, we may restore the content unless the complainant initiates legal proceedings within 10 business days.
No Admission of Liability
Our compliance with copyright takedown requests does not constitute an admission of copyright infringement. We reserve the right to reject fraudulent, incomplete, or abusive notices.
